Thank you for choosing Fu's. Please understand your experience is not over when you leave our studio. The care you are now responsible for will directly effect your new tattoo. Please avoid your friends suggestions, we are the experts and know how your tattoo should heal. 1. Remove the bandage from your new tattoo in 1-2 hours. the bandage at this point usually wants to stick, DO NOT RIP IT OFF!!! It is not a band-aid, nor a test of tolerance! Wet the bandage with warm water and gently remove the bandage. If it is easy to get to use the faucet, if not use the shower! 2. Gently wash the tattooed area with plain bar soap, carefully removing all residue(blood, paper, etc.). Gently pat the area dry with a towel. DO NOT USE A WASH CLOTH! This process should be done with your CLEAN hands and repeated at least twice daily for the duration of the healing period. 3. Do not re-bandage the tattoo! The tattoo needs to breath. At the beginning of the next day you may apply a FRAGRANCE FREE hand lotion such as lubriderm after washing your tattoo. It should be applied in a very sparingly manner more is not better!! You may do this a couple of times daily after washing your new tattoo. If you apply the lotion to the area and it seems to be "excessively shiny" You have used to much lotion, pat off any excess with a clean towel. DO NOT USE ANY MEDICATED OR PETROLEUM BASED PRODUCTS!!! They will only clog your pores, cause you skin to break out, and harm the outcome of your tattoo! 4. Do not expose your tattoo to sunlight, after the tattoo is healed you may apply a strong sunblock, but only after it is COMPLETLY HEALED!during the healing period all direct sunlight should be avoided, especially tanning beds! If you must use a tanning bed after the tattoo is healed, cover the tattoo completely. 5. Do not immerse the tattoo in water! Salt water, chlorine, the lake, river or any other body of water should be avoided during the healing process. Showering is fine, just don't soak it in water. This may cause the tattoo to scab heavily and cause an undesirable outcome to your new tattoo! 6. Make sure loose fitting clothing is worn over the tattoo during the healing period. Remember the tattoo needs to breath in order to heal properly. Not to mention tight fitting clothing may rub or scratch at the tattoo at a very crucial time in the healing period and could be detrimental to the outcome. 7. Your new tattoo will take 7 to 14 days to heal, depending on the person. At this time the tattoo forms a light scab. DO NOT PICK AT THE TATTOO. This will cause color loss! You should allow them to fall off naturally! After a few days the tattoo will begin to itch, DO NOT SCRATCH IT! Gently smack the area to relieve itching and most importantly don't use any over the counter anti-itch cream! Once again we are the professionals and know how your tattoo should heal properly. However all we can do is pave the way and hope you follow our instructions accordingly. We do guarantee our work, but not from customer negligence. Thanks, Fu |
